Rainforest Wild Adventure opens second phase this May

Rainforest Wild Adventure (previously known as Rainforest Wild), Asia's first adventure-based wildlife park at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, will soft open its second phase to the public from 20 May 2026, ahead of a grand opening celebration later in the month. With this new addition in the East, guests can now explore the full 20 hectares of naturalistic habitats inspired by the rainforests of Asia and Africa within a single visit at Rainforest Wild Adventure.

Adventure and wildlife experiences come together at Rainforest Wild Adventure, where visitors choose their own level of exploration and every wildlife encounter is a spontaneous discovery. From accessible, fun activities for most visitors under Adventure+, to more intense harnessed experiences for thrill-seekers under Black Adventure, there is something for everyone. The expansion brings the park’s total number of Adventure+ activities to nine across both zones. In Rainforest Wild Adventure East, guests can choose to glide among the tree canopy on the Canopy Glider or soar eight metres above ground on the Ravine Swing. Those seeking a bigger rush can climb to an 11-metre-high pinnacle for sweeping views on Split Rock Summit, scale a strangler fig on Primate Climb for an elevated vantage point of Diana monkeys in their habitats, or set off on Treetop Traverse – a 125-metre harnessed course through the treetops where the park’s wildlife may make an unexpected appearance at any turn below. For those who want to go further, Black Adventure activities at Rainforest Wild Adventure West offer guided high-element experiences, including ascending a karst rock face and a simulated cave expedition. Wide walkways and forest treks wind through the habitats for those on foot, suitable for families with strollers and wheelchair users.

Spanning seven hectares, Rainforest Wild Adventure East is inspired by Afro-tropical and Madagascan landscapes, where life thrives from below the waterline to the forest canopy. Making its Southeast Asia debut is the okapi – an endangered species from the dense forests of the Congo in Central Africa, and the only one of its kind in any zoological park in Southeast Asia. Recognisable by its deep brown coat and striking zebra-striped legs, the okapi looks like a creature dreamed up from different animals, yet it is the giraffe’s closest living relative. Adding to its allure is the fact that the okapi remained unknown to Western science until 1901, largely because it lives quietly in thick rainforest cover, earning it a long-standing reputation as one of nature’s most elusive large mammals. Rainforest Wild Adventure is home to four okapis, comprising two pairs that arrived from zoos in Europe. The pairs were recommended for breeding under the EAZA Ex situ Programme (EEP), a coordinated conservation initiative across accredited zoos worldwide that aims to maintain healthy, genetically diverse populations of threatened species.

Guests may also encounter species such as pygmy hippo, eastern bongo, red river hog and Nile lechwe, while a multi-species habitat brings together the wonders of Madagascar, including lemurs, turacos, and ibises. Animal activity and visibility vary across the park, reflecting the rhythms of a naturalistic environment. The expansive habitats invite guests to explore while giving animals the freedom to roam, rest in quieter areas, and express natural behaviours that support their well-being. Over time, guests can look forward to a growing and more diverse range of animals in our care, supported by scientifically managed breeding programmes and ethical population management.

To mark the soft opening of Rainforest Wild Adventure, Mandai Wildlife Group has teamed up with The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia to launch National Geographic Pop-Ups in Singapore for the first time. The retail shops at East and West will feature National Geographic-themed spaces, featuring fan-favourite National Geographic Apparel collections. Known for its iconic outerwear, graphic tees and more adventure-ready apparel and accessories, National Geographic Apparel combines National Geographic’s over 135 years of heritage with contemporary style to inspire the explorer in everyone. For the duration of the pop-ups, Rainforest Wild Adventure’s retail stores will also feature interior design and displays inspired by stunning National Geographic imagery – bringing a love for the natural world closer to home in Singapore and at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve.

Rainforest Wild Adventure East will soft-open daily from 20 May 2026, 9am to 6pm (last admission at 5pm). Park tickets include entry to both zones, and visitors can travel between the two via free shuttle services. The M1 East-West shuttle connects the eastern and western clusters of the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, while the M2 Khatib Shuttle Bus also links to Khatib MRT station every 15 to 20 minutes.  As part of a soft opening promotion, all ticket holders will enjoy access to nine Adventure+ activities on weekdays and up to five activities on weekends. Additional activities are available for separate purchase.

Local resident pricing is available for WildPass holders, at S$50 for adults, S$35 for children (aged 3 to 12) and local students (aged 25 and below), and S$25 for senior citizens. Sign up for free via our website and purchase tickets here. Non-residents pricing is at S$55 for adults and S$39 for children (aged 3 to 12).
