Trot down to Singapore's wildlife parks to welcome the year of the pig

24 JAN 2019
It was a piggy party today at the Singapore Zoo, where both wild and domestic members of the pig family pigged out on an early festive surprise ahead of the Lunar New Year.

These adorable mini pigs had a ball (or two) of a time when they were treated to an early Lunar New Year surprise. Come see them at Singapore Zoo’s Rainforest Kidzworld!

The captivating Red River Hogs, in their striking orange coats, indulged in a classic ‘Yu Sheng’, specially catered to their herbivorous diet: shredded carrots, red cabbage, beetroot, oranges and coloured pasta. The charismatic Babirusas, with their iconic canines, delighted on-looking guests as they unveiled well-wishes for the Year of the Pig, and were treated to carrots, soy beans and kang kong.

They may be the littlest in size compared to their wild counterparts, but they are certainly the biggest superstars this Lunar New Year! The mini pigs, located at the Singapore Zoo’s Rainforest Kidzworld, arrived a month ago and are all set to enthrall guests with their cute antics and squeaks.
Guests can visit these pig species at Singapore Zoo this Lunar New Year, and enjoy a host of festive special activities including a story walk, photo sessions with mini-pigs, and enthralling lion dance performances

They may be the smallest in size, but these mini pigs are the biggest superstars this Lunar New Year.
