POSB and Mandai Wildlife Group ink multi-year partnership, bringing financial literacy to the living classrooms at Mandai Wildlife Reserve

4 Dec 2024
Two homegrown Singapore brands, POSB and Mandai Wildlife Group, have joined forces to champion lifelong financial and environmental stewardship. This multi-year partnership reflects their shared commitment to inspiring individuals and families to adopt sustainable habits in managing finances while fostering an appreciation for wildlife and nature.

As part of this partnership, POSB’s financial literacy curriculum will be seamlessly integrated into new interactive learning journeys and workshops held within the wildlife parks at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve. Additionally, POSB cardmembers will enjoy exclusive privileges such as discounts, creating opportunities for meaningful family bonding and shared learning experiences.

“We believe early financial literacy is vital for a child's future, and we’re excited to partner with Mandai Wildlife Group to bring it to life in a novel and engaging way. This collaboration complements our existing efforts in schools, neighbourhoods and communities by extending financial education to where families play and bond. By moving beyond the traditional classroom, we aim to create memorable learning experiences that leave a lasting impact long after their visit to the park,” said Jeremy Soo, Managing Director and Head of Consumer Banking Group, DBS Singapore.

The collaboration harnesses the vibrant living classrooms of Singapore Zoo, Bird Paradise and River Wonders, where visitors learn essential financial concepts as well as how they can help keep the planet healthy for themselves and the wildlife that they encounter in the parks.

By learning beyond the classroom, this initiative further supports POSB’s efforts to expand financial literacy across more community touchpoints. A special co-created Super Saver Mission trail booklet will guide families through Singapore Zoo, introducing essential financial concepts like budgeting and saving with fun, animal-themed scenarios. Along the way, visitors will also deepen their connection to nature as they observe and interact with the animals they encounter.

“People are more willing to invest in what they care for, and with increasing appreciation for nature and a healthy planet, we hope to nurture our future generations to invest their time and resources into meaningful areas such as wildlife conservation, animal adoptions, stewardship of nature and other earth-friendly choices,” added Belina Lee, Deputy CEO, Transformation and Growth, Mandai Wildlife Group. “We are delighted to partner POSB in this meaningful initiative to encourage families to play together, be purposeful with their finances, and actively help to protect the planet that we all share for a long time to come!”

Beyond financial literacy, the partnership also opens up more opportunities for Singaporean families to bond and engage with wildlife and nature while enjoying greater savings and access to immersive nature-inspired experiences. In addition to the unique learning journeys, POSB cardmembers will enjoy 50% off park tickets and 10% off all food and beverage, as well as retail purchases, within the Mandai Wildlife Reserve.
