The Mississippi River is up next, where you'll meet our alligator snapping turtles and the impressive gars! Meander along the world’s longest river, the Nile River, and find out how we keep the voracious and predatory tigerfish with other ‘fishy’ inhabitants such as the strikingly patterned giraffe catfish and African arowana! Along the way, find out more about the ‘mbu’ and its life in the Congo River, the world’s deepest river. Stroll past the sacred Ganges River and learn more about the ‘pot-nosed’ Indian gharials. End your guided tour at Mekong River where awesome giant catfish and giant freshwater stingrays swim leisurely!

The longest river in Asia, the Yangtze River supports a diverse variety of animals, including the critically endangered Yangtze alligator, Chinese giant salamander and sturgeon. Uncover the challenges in conserving these species and continue on to Giant Panda Forest to meet Kai Kai and Jia Jia, our well-loved giant pandas. In this climate-controlled biodome, get acquainted with the adorable red pandas and flamboyant golden pheasants, and appreciate their inter-relationship with the giant pandas.

Before you charge through the world’s most voluminous river, step into Squirrel Monkey Forest to enjoy an immersive experience of the Amazon rainforest in the company of free-ranging monkeys. Journey on to Amazon Flooded Forest to get a sense of the annual flooding within the Amazon forest, which creates a water wonderland where animals feed, play and breed. Watch our giant river otters and manatees in action, and learn more about their unique adaptations to the wet and dry seasons.

The Amazon River is home to many animals, including the world’s largest otter species! Find out how the giant river otter finds food, fights enemies and makes friends. Plus, get a chance to make your very own otter puppet, complete with webbed feet and whiskers! Materials will be provided.
Learn fascinating facts about our resident giant pandas Kai Kai and Jia Jia, and the tremendous care that goes into keeping them happy and healthy.
This programme is conducted in your school.

This programme allows you to hone your skills as a Panda Researcher! Visit various stations to identify panda tracks, examine panda poo and paw prints. You'll gain insights into tracking methodology in the wild, and how tracking pandas helps us understand more about these bears and ultimately save them from extinction.
Amazon Flooded Forest boasts the largest freshwater aquarium in the world and is home to animals such as rotund manatees and giant arapaimas. Engage in some fishy business behind-the-scenes and learn what our dedicated team of aquarists in River Safari do to ensure that their aquatic charges are in the pink of health. This workshop provides in-depth training for pre-school teachers on how to conduct exciting and enriching field trips at River Safari. It also aims to encourage teachers to explore using River Safari as a venue for interdisciplinary teaching.
