One of our goals is to restore 2.7 hectares of degraded areas in the precinct by 2030. As of 2024, over 0.8 hectares have been restored. To enhance local habitats and ecological connectivity in the precinct for the longer term, we have set aside areas for buffers, set-backs and high-value habitats.

Mandai Wildlife Bridge

A dedicated animal crossing, the Mandai Wildlife Bridge was constructed to provide a safe passage for wildlife over Mandai Lake Road, connecting the buffer areas leading to the Central Catchment Nature Reserve on both sides of the road. Trees and various plants were also specially planted to simulate the natural forest.

Since its opening in 2019, more than 80 vertebrate species of wildlife have been observed using the bridge directly or flying over it!
