Istana Open House

Education for the public

Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS) set up a booth at the Istana across five public holidays this year to educate the public on wildlife conservation issues.

In 2016 and 2017, we highlighted the incredible local biodiversity found within Singapore and shared projects supported by Wildlife Reserves Singapore Conservation Fund (WRSCF).

We discussed the importance of coexistence with local wildlife, as well as the need for responsible pet ownership, consumer awareness and wildlife-friendly sustainable practices with visitors who came to our booth.

The conservation outreach booth at the Istana Open House also gave visitors a chance to observe and learn about live animals such as snakes and birds that were on display.

Child-friendly activities were also conducted at the booth to share the wildlife conservation message with younger audiences.
