Wildlife Reserves Singapore (“We”, “we”, “us”, “our” or “WRS”) Terms and Conditions For Tickets and Park Admissions
1.1. These Terms and Conditions shall apply to our relationship with you (“you” or “Guest” or “Guests”) in relation to any lawful and authorised activity that you might undertake in or around the Singapore Zoo, River Wonders, Night Safari and Jurong Bird Park (collectively, these four venues and their surroundings shall be referred to as the “Parks”, and the Parks shall be individually referred to as the “Park”).
1.2. We shall have the right to amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time, and the Terms and Conditions for the time being in force shall govern our relationship with you.
2.1. All prices are in Singapore dollars and are subject to change until admission tickets and/or packages are paid in full.
2.2. For meal (e.g. Meal Packages offered to you for consumption at specified food & beverage outlets in our Parks including the Jungle Breakfast with Wildlife) and tour (e.g. back-of-house tours or such other tours offered by us) packages (collectively, meal and/or Tour Packages (as defined in Clause 6 below) shall be referred to as the “Package” or “Packages”), prices must be paid for the total Package and cannot be broken down into individual Package component prices.
2.3. All prices are subject to change due to imposition of taxes or other charges of governmental authorities.
2.4. Upon purchase of admission tickets and/or packages, the full price of these admission tickets and/or packages, or part thereof, is non-refundable.
2.5. We reserve the right to, in our sole and absolute discretion, allow for refunds to be made in accordance with the method that payment was received by us. All appropriate refunds will be made through the Guest’s travel and/or tour agent if payment was made to us by the travel and/or tour agent. We are not responsible for the receipt of refund monies by Guests from their travel and/or tour agents.
3. Our liability to you
3.1. Compliance by us or our suppliers with any applicable regulatory requirements will be proper performance of our, and our supplier’s obligations. You must show that reasonable skill and care has not been used if you wish to make any claim against us.
3.2. Services and products offered or provided to you by independent third-party service providers in the Parks are charged to you as extra services. These contractors work directly for you when performing their services and offering their products. We are not responsible for their performance, acts or omissions or any products offered or provided by them and shall not be liable for them in anyway whatsoever.
3.3. We shall not be liable to you where the cause of the failure in your enjoyment of our Parks or any death or personal injury that you may suffer is not due to any fault on our part or that of our directors, officers, employees, agents or suppliers because it is either attributable to you or any other Guest, or is unforeseeable or unavoidable; or because the failure is due to unusual or unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, the consequences of which could not have been avoided even if reasonable care had been exercised, or due to an event which neither we, nor our directors, officers, employees, agents or suppliers could have foreseen or forestalled.
3.4. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary elsewhere in these Terms and Conditions, we shall not in any circumstances be liable to you for any loss or anticipated loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of use, loss of contract or other opportunity (whether direct, indirect or consequential) nor for any consequential, incidental or indirect loss or damage of any kind whatsoever.
3.5. For claims not involving personal injury, death or illness, any liability which we may incur for the negligent acts and/or omissions shall be limited in total to a maximum of the price which you paid to us for your ticket and/or Package.
3.6. We reserve the right to (i) amend, alter, supplement, or vary these terms and conditions, (ii) change the ticket prices and validity, (iii) change any block-out dates, and (iv) terminate or suspend the availability and validity of any offer, discount, or promotion, in each case, at any time and from time to time without prior notice to you.
4. General Ticket Conditions
4.1. All standard admission tickets to our Parks shall be valid for one visit on the purchase date or on the date stipulated on the ticket.
4.2. All standard admission tickets to Night Safari include a single ride on trams featuring commentary in the English language.
4.3. All standard admission tickets to River Wonders includes rides on the Reservoir Cruise.
4.4. Regardless of ticket types, all admission tickets to the Night Safari are only valid for the date and time specified on the admission tickets. Entry to the Night Safari will be refused if the ticket specifies a date other than the date on which the Guest presents the ticket and/or the time specified on the ticket has passed.
4.5. All admission tickets and/or Packages cannot be re-sold, transferred or exchanged, either in whole or in part, for cash, for cash-in-kind, or for any other item.
4.6. Admission tickets are void, and is not valid for entry into any of our Parks if the admission tickets are altered, amended, or defaced.
4.7. Promotions and discounts which may be offered by us from time to time are not available to you when ticket purchases are made online.
4.8. All children below the age of 3 years old, bearing such proof to our satisfaction, may enter our Parks for free when accompanied by another Guest who paid for entry to the same Parks.
4.9. All local residents above the age of 60 years ago, bearing such proof to our satisfaction, shall be eligible to purchase admission tickets under the Senior Citizens’ Concession Rate.
4.10. If Guests wish to purchase admission tickets with the Local Resident’s Discount or Senior Citizen’s Concession Rate whether at our ticketing counters or through online purchase, proof of identity in such form as we might require must be produced upon purchase of admission tickets and/or at the point of entry to our Parks.
4.11. The purchase of admission tickets shall be limited to a maximum purchase of five tickets at our ticketing counters and ten tickets for all purchases made online.
5. ParkHopper Tickets
5.1. ParkHopper tickets are valid for seven days from the date of first visit to our Parks.
5.2. All admission tickets to the Night Safari are only valid for the date and time specified on the admission tickets. Entry to the Night Safari will be refused if the ticket specifies a date other than the date on which the Guest presents the ticket and/or the time specified on the ticket has passed.
6. Tour Packages
6.1. Subject to blackout dates and availability, we may, from time to time, offer Tour Packages to you, which might include the following:
6.1.1. Singapore Zoo: Private Buggy Tour; Behind-the-scene RepTopia Tour;
6.1.2. River Wonders: Behind-the-scene Manatee Mania Tour; Behind-the-scene River DiscoveryTour;
6.1.3. Night Safari: Safari Adventure Tour;
6.1.4. Jurong Bird Park: Private Buggy Tour; Bird’s Eye Tour;
6.1.5. Any other Tour Packages that we may offer
(collectively, these Tour Packages shall be referred to as the “Tour Packages”).
6.2. Unless otherwise stated, Tour Packages do not include admission tickets to our Parks. These admission tickets must be purchased before you are allowed entry into our Parks for the purpose of enjoying your tour Package(s).
6.3. All Guests below the age of 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult above the age of 21 years old at all times during the tour.
6.4. Your punctual arrival at the designated meeting point is vital to your enjoyment of your tour Package(s). You must arrive at the designated meeting point prior to the commencement time for your tour Package(s).
6.5. If you arrive after the commencement time for your tour Package(s), we may exercise our sole and absolute discretion to allow you to join the tour. However, in such circumstances, components of the tour that has been covered by the tour up to the point of your late arrival will not be repeated, and you will not be entitled to revisit those components.
6.6. As our Tour Packages consist of our guides bringing you through restricted zones, you must not take any form of photograph, video, or other digital media (“Media”) unless you are expressly informed by our guides that such Media recording is allowed. In the event that you take any form of Media recording without being expressly informed that such recording is allowed, you must cooperate with us when you are informed that such Media, and all copies thereof, must be destroyed immediately.
6.7. Your participation in the Tour Packages is not exclusive, and it is likely that there will be other Guests with you on the same tour.
6.8. In the unlikely event that the Tour Packages cannot be undertaken on the designated date and/or time due to weather conditions, conditions in our Parks, and/or conditions relating to the well-being of the animals, we will re-schedule the tour to a date and/or time when conditions allow your enjoyment of the Tour Packages.
6.9. For the Tour Packages in River Wonders, the following additional conditions apply:
6.9.1. Guests must be at least 1.2 metres in height in order to participate in the Manatee Mania tours; and
6.9.2. Pregnant Guests are not allowed to participate in the Manatee Mania tours.
7. Meal Packages
7.1. Subject to blackout dates and availability, we may, from time to time, offer Meal Packages to you, which might include the following:
7.1.1. Lunch with Parrots;
7.1.2. Ulu Ulu Asian Buffet;
7.1.3. Ulu Ulu Indian Buffet;
7.1.4. Jungle Breakfast with Wildlife;
7.1.5. An Evening in the Wild;
7.1.6. Any other Meal Packages that we may offer
7.1.6. (collectively, these Meal Packages shall be referred to as the “Meal Packages”).
7.2. All Meal Packages cannot be re-sold, transferred or exchanged, either in whole or in part, for cash, for cash-in-kind, or for any other item.
7.3. Upon purchase of Meal Packages, the full price of these packages, or part thereof, is non-refundable.
7.4. We reserve the right to allocate seating at the respective food and beverage outlets in our sole and absolute discretion.
7.5. When reservations are made for a specific time for any number of Guests, all Guests making up the group of Guests must be present within fifteen minutes of the specified time. Failing which, these reservations shall be deemed cancelled.
8. Rental of Equipment
8.1. Subject to blackout dates and availability, we may, from time to time, offer the rental of Equipment to you, which might include the following:
8.1.3. Electronic scooter; or
8.1.4. Any other Equipment that we may offer for rent
(collectively, these Equipment shall be referred to as the “Equipment”).
8.2. Subject to these Terms and Conditions, and also subject to availability and the terms and conditions that might attach specifically to the rental of a particular Equipment, you may rent Equipment from us during the operating hours of the Park that you are visiting.
8.3. These Equipment that you may rent from us can only be used in our Parks, and you must not allow these Equipment to leave the Parks.
8.4. Where damage is caused to these Equipment or where parts of the Equipment becomes lost, you shall reimburse, in full, the cost of procuring a replacement Equipment that is of the same or better quality than the damaged Equipment.
8.5. You shall also indemnify, defend and hold us and any of our related corporations and any of the directors, officers, agents, shareholders, employees and contractors of these corporations (the “Indemnified Parties”) harmless from and against all allegations, claims or causes of action and costs (including the professional fees of advocates and solicitors), expenses and liabilities incurred by or claimed against us, including any allegation, action or proceeding raised or brought, arising from, in connection with, relating to, or as a result of (a) any accident, injury, death, loss, or damage whatsoever to any person or to the property of any person, including the persons employed and the property managed us and all persons in or at the premises managed by us as shall occur due to your usage of the rented Equipment, or (b) any act or omission whatsoever on your part or on the part of any person under your care, control, and/or custody.
8.6. Strollers can only be rented to carry children below the age of three (3) years old, and under the weight of 15 kg.
8.7. Wagons can only be rented to carry a maximum of two children, both of whom must be below the age of six (6) years old, and both of whom must not weigh above a combined weight of 35 kg.
8.8. Electric scooters cannot be rented to Guests who weigh more than 150 kg, pregnant Guests, or Guests who are below the age of sixteen (16) years old.
9. Singapore Zoo Carousel
9.1. Subject to these Terms and Conditions, and also subject to availability, Guests below the height of 107 cm may ride on the Singapore Zoo Carousel (the “Carousel”).
9.2. All Guests riding on the Carousel must be accompanied by another supervising Guest who is above the height of 135 cm. These accompanying Guests may participate in the Carousel ride without charge.
9.3. Any Guest riding on the Carousel must be below the weight of 77 kg.
9.4. Guests who are pregnant, afflicted with physical conditions that might impede movement, prone to motion sickness or dizziness, or are feeling unwell are not allowed to ride on the Carousel.
10. River Wonders Amazon River Quest Boat Ride
10.1. Subject to these Terms and Conditions, and also subject to availability, Guests below the height of 106 cm may ride on the River Wonders Amazon River Quest Boat Ride (the “River Quest”).
10.2. All Guests between the heights of 106 cm and 135 cm must be accompanied by another supervising Guest who is above the height of 135 cm.
10.3. Guests who are pregnant, afflicted with physical conditions that might impede movement, suffering from any form of heart or blood pressure condition, or suffering from any form of back or neck condition are not allowed to ride on the River Quest.
11. Conversion of Ticket to Membership
11.1. Subject to the terms and conditions of the individual Membership Schemes, admission tickets shall be eligible for conversion to the following Membership Schemes:
11.1.1. Family Friends of Wildlife;
11.1.2. Individual Friends of Wildlife;
11.1.3. Family Friends of Wildlife Plus;
11.1.4. Individual Friends of Widlife Plus; and
11.1.5. Friends of Singapore Zoo.
(collectively, these Membership Schemes shall be referred to as the “Membership Schemes”).
12. Behavior in the Parks
12.1. If we or any other person in authority is of the opinion that you, or any member of your group, are (a) behaving in such a way as to cause or be likely to cause danger or upset to any other person (including our directors, officers, employees, agents, contractors, or suppliers) or damage to property, or (b) could be disruptive or is/are suffering from a contagious disease, we will be entitled to terminate your visit to our Parks with immediate effect without refund or compensation. You and/or any and/or all members of your group will not be allowed to proceed with your travel arrangements in our Parks and/or will be required to leave the Parks immediately and we will have no further responsibility to you and your group in relation to any refund or compensation including any return travel arrangements. No refund or compensation will be made, and we will not pay any expenses or costs incurred as a result of the termination. You will be responsible for making full payment for any damage or loss caused by you or any Guest who is under your care, control, and/or custody, if applicable.
12.2. You may not, without our prior written authorization, exploit any image, video or other media taken in our Parks for a commercial purpose.
12.3. The following non-exhaustive list of conducts shall be considered undesirable conduct that may cause us to request that you leave our Parks:
12.3.1. Bringing flammable, dangerous and/or hazardous materials into our Parks;
12.3.2. Smoking in locations that are not designated as smoking areas;
12.3.3. Disposal of items other than at points that are designated as rubbish collection points;
12.3.4. Affixing, displaying or attempting to affix or display any form of advertisement without our prior written consent.
12.3.5. Releasing, removing or placing of animals and/or plants in our Parks;
12.3.6. Selling, exhibiting, promoting or distributing any item without our prior written consent;
12.3.7. Attempting to, without our permission, feed, touch, tease, capture, kill, hunt, harm or do any act to cause disturbance, annoyance, injury or death to any animals;
12.3.8. Possessing balloons in our Parks;
12.3.9. Using mobility devices without our prior written approval; and
12.3.10. Using flash photography or flashlight in the Night Safari or such other areas where signs prohibit such flash photography or flashlight usage.
13. Privacy and Data Protection
13.1. You hereby grant us the permission to use your likeness in a photograph, video, or other digital media (“Media”) in any and all of our publications, including web-based publications, without payment or other consideration. You understand and agree that all Media shall be our exclusive property, and you irrevocably agree to authorise us to edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish, or distribute these Media for any lawful purpose. In addition, you waive any right to inspect or approve the finished product wherein your likeness appears. Additionally, you waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising from, in connection with or related to the use of the Media. You agree to waive and release us from any and all liability and/or obligation arising from the use of any photograph or video that may contain your image.
13.2. You agree that we shall have the right to collect, use, disclose, retain your personal information for the purpose of customer support services. For avoidance of doubt, we may continue to collect, use, disclose, and retain your personal data even after your visit to our Parks in accordance to the retention period stated in our data protection policy unless you write to us at [email protected] to withdraw such consent in which event, we will only retain your data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations
13.3. We will collect and hold your personal information in accordance with our Data Protection Policy
13.4. You consent to our processing and transferring information in this way.
14. Governing law
14.1. The agreement between the Guest and WRS shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore and with Singapore designated as the jurisdiction and venue for resolution of any disputes that may arise under this Agreement. Any dispute, controversy claim or difference arising out of or in connection with this Agreement or the breach, termination or invalidity thereof ("Dispute(s)"), shall be settled, in so far as it is possible, through direct negotiations within 14 days from the time the Dispute(s) arose. If direct negotiations fail, the parties shall refer such Dispute(s) to the Singapore Mediation Centre for resolution in accordance with the Mediation Procedure for the time being in force. Both you and WRS agree to participate in the mediation in good faith and undertake to abide by the terms of any settlement reached. If settlement cannot be reached during mediation, the Dispute(s) shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Singapore.
